SEBI puts off decision on carryforward

[Details] The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Tuesday disappointed the market by not discussing the JR Varma committee recommendations on the modified carry forward system. SEBI chairman DR Mehta told reporters after the meeting that the issue was not discussed for want of time.

MCS buys out registrar unit of Birla Consultancy

[Details] MCS Ltd has bought out the registrar and share transfer division of Birla Consultancy & Software Services(BCSS), a unit of Grasim Industries. MCS has written to the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), informing them about the purchase.
