Capital markets


Markets across the world are going through a turbulent phase. A tremor in New York affects markets worldwide. A comparison of the markets of the world shows the relative strengths and importance of them.

New York has a market capitalisation of $9,135 billion. Tokyo is next with $2670 billion. The markets of small countries boast of large capitalisation. Taipei for instance has a market capitalisation of $372 billion which is higher than of Mumbai with a figure of $171 billion. Kuala Lumpur and Hong Hong are also much higher than Mumbai. But Mumbai scores better than the market of Singapore ($158 billion), Seoul (134 billion), Bangkok ($64 billion) and Manila ($55 billion).
