Funds crunch halts Govt recruitment

NAGPUR, July 24: In total disregard of its election promise to provide 27 lakh new jobs, the Shiv Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party alliance government has not only put a total ban on recruitment in government and semi-government departments and State undertakings but also decided to abolish nearly one lakh posts which remained vacant for more than six months.The decision came into effect through a Government Resolution issued on June 2. It was issued by the State Finance Department as part of austerity measures announced in view of the acute shortage of funds faced by the State.
