When they tried to getaway, police patrols at Antop Hill and Shivajinagar were intimated. The patrols immediately began chasing the assailants. Two of the culprits got caught and beaten up by some people who joined the chase. The rest of them managed to get away. Two imported 9 mm pistols were seized from the assailants. According to top police sources they are supposed to belong to the Chhota Shakeel gang.
