Railways reward for athletes

NEW DELHI, July 24: Railway minister Nitish Kumar has announced a cash award of Rs one lakh towards Railways athletes in the Indian team for their fine performance at the recent XIIth Asian Athletics Championship held at Fukuoka, Japan, A Railway Sports Control Board release said here this evening that in addition, each of the Railways women athletes, who participated in the 4x100 and 4x400 m relay in the championship, held from July 19 to 22, would receive a cash award of Rs 25,000.The Railway team had won eight out of ten medals in the individual events while in the women's relay events, three out of four participants were also from the Railways.
