NEW DELHI, July 24: Himachal Pradesh and North Zone cricketer Rajiv Nayyar has been performing well, both with the bat and the ball, for his club Leycett in England's Minor County Championships, according to reports reaching here.Playing in Minior Counties for the fifth season, Nayyar gave an all-round performance for his club against Cheadle when he scored an unbeaten 111 and claimed two wickets. Though his club lost the limited-overs match, Rajiv Nayyar struck nine boundaries in his 152-ball unbeaten effort.
In another match against Meirhealth Club, Nayyar struck an unbeaten 116 and took three wickets for 35 runs. Playing as a professional, Nayyar guided his team to score victories over Burshiem and Cheadle and helped the team head the league table. He scored 85 not out against Burshiem.
In four matches he has played so far, he remained unbeaten on three occasions with two centuries.
In the 1994 season, Rajiv Nayyar aggregated 1,545 runs and claimed 40 wickets and erased the old mark existing in the name of J Pollard of the West Indies who represented Kimblesworth in minor counties.
