Kumar Saahil who is debuting with Kaash... Mere Hote talks about his debut film and his expectations.

Launch
I am playing the male lead opposite Sneha Ullal in Kaash... Mere Hote. Shravan Entertainment Films is producing the film. I play a young vibrant photographer in the film who is very happy-go-lucky by nature.

Casting Coup
I bagged the role on my last day at Kishore Namit Kapoor's acting school. At the end of the day, the producers came to the acting school and asked me if I wanted to act in this film. That was just the beginning because I had to undergo rigorous training for about six months. I play a photographer in the film so I attended a couple of workshops to understand lighting techniques and camera angles. Only after all this, did I start shooting for the film.

Stepping Stone
Right from school I have been a good dancer and used to take part in a lot of dance-related competitions. Even in college I was actively involved in theatre. After that I went to the acting school. I have also done a three-month acting course with Anupam Kher's acting academy.

First Shot
I was facing the camera for the first time and initially I was a little nervous. Gradually, I did understand that you have to be camera-friendly. Everybody from the unit was very supportive and made sure that I was comfortable. My first shot was pretty easy because it was a dance sequence. I had persuaded my director to have a dance sequence because I am good at dancing.

Stumbling Block
Every newcomer who enters the industry has to go through his share of problems. When I came to Mumbai around two years back, I used to visit every film's sets. During this time, I have met every actor and director. I have visited more than 60 sets in a period of two years.

Lessons Learnt
There are quite a few things that I have learnt from the industry. I have realised the importance of having a good physique and have started gymming regularly. Acting is an inborn quality and no one can teach you to act. But there is scope for improvement. I tried improving by observing actors while they gave their shots. This helped me give a good shot.

Matinee Idol
I really look up to Sunny Deol. When I met him for the first time I was tongue-tied. I like his choice of aggressive and intense roles that he portrays so effortlessly. Some day, I aspire to be like him. Among Hollywood actors I like Brad Pitt.

Future Plans
Right now I am concentrating on my debut film. I have got two or three offers but I will sign other films only after my film releases. I believe in concentrating on one thing at a time.
